Ezekiel 11:18-20 Born From Above

Here in Ezekiel 11 is a beautiful picture of salvation.

Ezekiel 11:18-20

18 And they will go there, and they will take away all its detestable things and all its abominations from there. 19 Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, 20 that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

The first step is repentance. “They will take away all its detestable things and all its abominations from there.” When someone repents, there is a change in their heart to turn away from evil, according to God and His Word, and go toward righteousness, toward the Lord.

Second, God puts “a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh.” Here God says that He does the work of giving us His Spirit. He describes it as removing a heart that is rock hard and replacing it with what is supposed to be there, a heart of flesh. It also describes the hardness towards the things of God and how we are changed to love what He loves.

Third, God describes how the person is to live, ” that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them.” Some people will tell you that “God has a plan for your life.” Here is His plan! Sometimes it is easy, sometimes difficult. Look at the life of Ezekiel, Paul the apostle, Peter the disciple. The lives of these people was not easy.

Lastly, God says, ” and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.” How awesome is that! When you begin to read about heaven and hell, it is better to have God than not. Follow these steps and check out the websites below.
